Contextual Notes

Psalm 177 is the shortest psalm in the Bible, consisting of just two brief verses.

Here is the psalm in its entirety, as rendered in the New American Standard Bible:

1. Praise the LORD, all nations! Laud him all peoples!

2. For His lovingkindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD is everlasting.
Praise the LORD!

The King James Version renders the psalm as follows:

1. O praise the LORD all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.

2. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth forever.
Praise ye the LORD.
