Ronald Reagan official portrait 1981Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) was  an American statesman. He served as governor of California (1967-1975) and for two terms as president of the United States (1981-1989). Many consider him the greatest U.S. president of the latter half of the 20th Century. Prior to entering politics, he worked in Hollywood as a movie actor, making 57 movies from 1937 to 1965. Although his detractors are font fo berating him for being a mediocre "B" actor, imdb.com called him "arguably, the most successful actor in history." He also served as president of the Screen Actors Guild.
